Re-done because I felt like making it awesome. First time I tried a style like this. Instead of doing the colouring together, I did each item separately. Very time consuming. It's obvious I put a fair amount of time into this, comments are well appreciated.

Inspired by the song Viva la Vida by Coldplay

I used to rule the world
Seas would rise when I gave the word
Now in the morning I sleep alone
Sweep the streets I used to own

I used to roll the dice
Feel the fear in my enemy’s eyes
Listened as the crowd would sing
Now the old king is dead long live the king
One minute I held the key
Next the walls were closed on me
And I discovered that my castles stand
Upon pillars of salt and pillars of sand

I hear Jerusalem bells a-ringing
Roman cavalry choirs are singing
Be my mirror my sword and shield
Missionaries in a foreign field
For some reason I can't explain
Once you'd gone there was never
Never an honest word
And that was when I ruled the world

It was a wicked and wild wind
Blew down the doors to let me in
Shattered windows and the sound of drums
People couldn’t believe what I’d become
Revolutionaries wait
For my head on a silver plate
Just a puppet on a lonely string
Oh who would ever want to be king?

A wonderful peice.

the colour is wonderful but I think It would look better if it was dulled down a bit to give it a more medievil feel to it :), but still a wonderful peice :hug:

First, thank you for using my stock. I think you really fitted it very nicely into this work.
Second, you're asking for comments, so... here goes... :) - I must say this is a quite unfamiliar style and subject to me. Not exactly the thing I would choose in the first place :). Yet, I like how you did it :nod:. Obviously you put a lot of images together - most of them help to express your idea. Except the bells, maybe, they are a little too christmassy to me - and the yellow and greenish things in the bacground... I first thougt it were sunflowers, but maybe it's fire?
The colours are bright and vibrant- playful even - with those ribbons. Yet the theme is rather dark and threatening- the flooding sea, the flying arrows... most of the other images are too...
Confusing, unsettling, fascinating... That's what this work does with me...
Guess that's what you wanted to express... ?

Holy mother of whoah!!!! The effort you put into this is so obvious, and as to the coloring: I LOVE the brilliance of it! If it were desaturated any it simply would not be as intense. There's so much going on here...the textures are exactly what you needed for a base, and the red bands of ribbon are symbolic of his somewhat distorted rule. Very well done.
